What changed

“Now the creation of games does not have any secret.”

Before Project Ripple, my computer skills were very limited. Today, I am confident enough to share with others what I have learned. After class each day, I would take time to practice and train my siblings. What I enjoyed most was creating posters and flyers using Canva. At home, I am now designing birthday posters for all my siblings. I am not yet an expert, but for someone who knew almost nothing before, this is a great achievement. I cannot wait to see more opportunities like this.

Throughout the training, I acquired many skills that enabled me to create visual arts and learn how to use Google tools such as Google Classroom and Google Slides. One thing I really liked about the class was the focus during lessons. Everyone was focused on their laptops, listening to explanations and responding to questions. Now, as the Youth Deputy President in my church, I am creating invitations, posters, and many more things. In the past, we used to pay people for these services, but now I can do them myself.

I am a musician, and I play solo guitar. It is my favorite instrument. Through this program, I discovered that some of the things I used to see other people doing, and thought I could never do myself, were actually possible. Project Ripple showed me how easy it can be to create visual arts using AI. I tried it myself, and it worked. I have not started earning money yet from the skills I acquired, but I believe that with continuous opportunities like this, I can see myself becoming an IT professional in the future.

I was so blessed by the mental health sessions. It was an opportunity for me to learn from others and also discover how I can begin to heal from mental health challenges. I come from a very difficult background … Some of the things we have been through can become obstacles and affect even our academic performance. Thank you, Project Ripple, for this amazing program.

Project Ripple is an amazing program. I am a Grade 8 student, and I registered for this program out of curiosity. Yet, through that same curiosity, I acquired skills and knowledge that no one can take away from me.
